Well, day 4 has come and gone and while I'm sad to see MAX over, it sure is nice to be back home. Today I had some good sessions, including: Mobile Web Development workflow, Advanced
Exporting in Fireworks (.pdf and flex files), Deep Dive in Photoshop CS4, and Video Production for the web using OnLocation, Premiere Pro and After Effects.

I saw a demo of Adobe Configurator today in the "Deep Dive of Photoshop CS4" session and was floored:

With the release of Creative Suite 4 Adobe® has taken a new (and some would say controversial) direction with Help. No longer do the applications in CS4 have their own local help files. Now when you seek help your browser is opened and you are taken to the Community Help site for that application.

Well Day 3 has come and gone, with only one more day left in this lollapalooza of web design we call Adobe MAX. Today I had attended some pretty great sessions, most of which were centered around Flash Pro CS4 and it's enhanced animation capabilities, as well as workflow with Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash.

Well, yesterday I attended the pre-event lab detailing how to produce and distribute media to mobile devices. Very cool stuff. It went through the gamut including advances to Adobe Device Central CS4 and how to use it effectively to test your application created with Flash Lite. Flash Lite 3 will be released shortly, and a developer's edition is currently available for download at Adobe.

Here's the latest from Lightroom Secrets...
As we've seen, there are many preferences that can be adjusted in Lightroom® to make it work the way you like. But that's not all! Each catalog has its own settings to allow you to further customize your Lightroom® experience! Let's take a look at Catalog Settings.
Catalog Settings can be found under the Lightroom menu on the Mac and under the Edit menu on Windows.
There are three main tabs here: General, File Handling, and Metadata.

If you've been waiting patiently (and even if you haven't) Part 2 of my tour of preferences in Lightroom® over at Lightroom Secrets .
Don't forget our next meeting on November 15th! See you there!

I recently launched a new site called Lightroom Secrets. It's at lightroomsecrets.com.
Drop on by and read my latest post detailing the preference settings for Lightroom®. This is Part 1 and cover the first half of the available settings. Be sure to make the next meeting where I'll be covering what's new in Lightroom® 2! Oh, and did I mention that DFWAUG will be giving away a copy of CS4? Don't miss it!!!!

Final adjustments to the release candidate have been completed and Lightroom® 2.1 is available to download. When you start Lightroom® you should be prompted to download the update.
You can also download the update directly from Adobe®. Windows users can click here. Mac users can click here.

Pizza, prizes and lots of information was had by all at our October meeting. Remember that Lynda.com offers our members a 20% discount so use the Contact Us form and let us know your user ID and we'll email the discount code to you.
See you in November!
