Unofficially the first reviews of I am so proud of you
"[Everything will be OK and I am so proud of you] tell the story of Bill, a stick figure everyman who stoically endures the pain, uncertainty, and excruciating beauty of life. Hertzfeldt's work is sometimes elusive in its simplicity, but it can be profound as well; with his humor, darkness, philosophical yearning, and insistence on drawing every line himself, he may be the only legitimate successor to Charles M Schulz. Except for all the money, of course." - J.R. Jones, Chicago Reader
"....a fucking masterpiece. I can't even begin to articulate my thoughts about the
film but it just gave me shivers and I wasn't able to attend the party after
the screening. Just had to be alone. It had this effect on a number of other
people here too.... stunning, beautiful, tragic, absurd work." - Chris Robinson, artistic director Ottawa International Animation Festival

THE OPENING HALF OF THE TOUR HAS COME TO A CLOSE, with nearly every screening selling out by overwhelming margins: unfortunately, in some cities it was not uncommon to see hundreds of people turned away at the door. If you're making plans to attend an upcoming screening in your area, it's strongly recommended to buy advance tickets wherever possible! Please be sure to visit our tour board for tips and info on when and where advance tickets may go on sale in your area, and don't be afraid to contact us if you need help!
ATTENTION LOS ANGELES.... BOTH SCREENINGS on November 30 (7pm and 9:30) have already sold out: We are working on adding a THIRD SHOWTIME later that same night to make sure everyone has a chance to see the new movie. Advance ticket info for this final screening will be available soon!
ATTENTION NEW YORK CITY.... BOTH SCREENINGS on November 19 (7pm and 9:15pm) are now SOLD OUT: We've just added an unprecedented THIRD showtime for 11:15pm that night to make sure everyone has a chance to see the new movie. Advance tickets for the final 11:15pm screening are now available here, and are strongly recommended!
THIS JUST IN: I am so proud of you has just won the Golden Starfish Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival!
............"Cult animator and Academy Award nominee Don Hertzfeldt (the Meaning of Life, Rejected, Billy's Balloon) hits the road this fall for a rare series of one-night-only events: A selection of Don's classic animated shorts return to the big screen, culminating in the exclusive regional premiere of his newest film, I am so proud of you. His longest piece to date, I am so proud of you is the eagerly anticipated second chapter to Everything will be OK, winner of the Sundance Film Festival's Jury Award in Short Filmmaking and named by many critics as one of the "best films of 2007". The screening will be immediately followed by a live on-stage interview and audience chat with Don Hertzfeldt. We can't stress this enough: One night only!"..........

September 8 update: Please note the DATE CHANGES for AUSTIN and CALGARY, as well as the new theater announcement for ATLANTA! We've also just set up a TOUR BULLETIN BOARD to help answer any questions about tickets, venue info, showtimes, politics, moonbeams, etc. Each city will be updated as soon as any new info comes in.

September 4 update: Hello, we've received a large number of screening requests and while it won't be possible to be everywhere at once, there are still a couple of last minute venues we're considering for the schedule... please stay tuned. Thanks for all the messages so far and especially to those of you already planning to travel a distance to come say hello. Yes, there is a chance we might be able to add a second leg of the tour in early 09 and visit some additional areas, however it is nothing to bet on yet as Don does not like leaving the house very much.
